
City school students organise beach clean-up

P.S. Senior Secondary School students organize beach clean-up drive, collecting half a ton of waste to raise environmental awareness.
In an effort to raise awareness about clean environment, the students of P.S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore organised a beach clean-up drive along the Marina coast Saturday. According to a release, the initiative was taken as part of the School’s community service. Over 150 Class 12 students and teachers participated in the event collecting nearly half a ton of waste. Equipped with masks and gloves, students began collecting waste from the shore at 6:00 AM and continued their efforts for two hours. The drive was conducted as an effort to bring in awareness among the student community and the public at large on the importance of a clean environment and social responsibility, it added.

Taking serious note of the lack of essential identity documents among members of nomadic communities, chairperson of the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Nomadic Development Corporation Pallavi G. has announced a special drive for them to get access for documents such as Aadhaar, voter identity, and ration cards.
