BRS leader Harish Rao accuses Congress government of denying ₹14,000 crore to farmers, demands ₹25,000 per acre support for crop loss.
HYDERABAD
Senior leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) T. Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government in the State has denied a total of ₹14,000 crore money to the landholding farming community, but is not paying them investment support of ₹9,000 crore pertaining to the Kharif season and another ₹5,000 crore for the Yasangi season of 2024-25.
Speaking during visit to the Ibrahimnagar village in Siddipet district on Saturday to examine the crop damage due to hailstorm, he demanded that the government extend them ₹25,000 per acre support against crop loss. He stated that last week the crop damage took place in 3,000 acres in Siddipet district, and this week in another 9,000 acres. The government had not paid any input subsidy to farmers whose standing crops were completely damaged in 1,350 acres with hailstorm during the last summer (2023-24 Yasangi).
On farm loan waiver, Mr. Harish Rao stated that while 5,300 farmers received the waiver benefit, another 7,352 were denied it in Chinna Kondur mandal itself, despite the tall claims of the government that it had completed implementation of farm loan waiver completely.
