Work in tandem to win Legislative Council elections in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu tells NDA leaders. Highlight the development and welfare programmes being implemented, and the manner in which governance is being streamlined, he exhorts.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has exhorted the leaders of the alliance partners (TDP, Jana Sena Party and BJP) to strive for the victory of NDA candidates in the MLC elections for the Guntur-Krishna and East-West Godavari graduates’ constituencies and the Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam teachers’ constituency scheduled to be conducted on February 27.
In a video-conference on Sunday, Mr. Naidu told the leaders that every election was like a test and they should spare no effort to achieve victory. He suggested to them to work in tandem from the grassroots level, and create awareness among the electorate about the need to cast their vote for the NDA candidates.
Mr. Naidu observed that the NDA had secured an emphatic win in the 2024 general elections with a 93% strike rate due to the people’s confidence in its ability to take the State forward. The development and welfare programmes implemented, and the manner in which governance was being streamlined should be highlighted, he said.
Mr. Naidu said that ‘Brand A.P.’, which had been destroyed, was being promoted with renewed vigour to attract investments, thereby creating job opportunities for the youth. Already, investments amounting to ₹7 lakh crore were tied up, he said. Skill Development Centers were in the process of being set up to improve the skills of youth, pensions were being given to 64 lakh people every month, and the Mega DSC notification was in the offing.
The Chief Minister further said salaries for the employees and pensions for retirees were being paid on the first day of every month, and the government was exploring work-from-home opportunities for educated women to generate income for them.
Many initiatives were undertaken in the last eight months and they should be duly highlighted, he advised. With 10 days remaining for the elections, the leaders should intensify their campaign, Mr. Naidu said.
