
Minister Ma Subramanian inaugurates development projects in Chennai’s Kodambakkam Zone

Health Minister inaugurates development projects worth ₹1.60 crore in Virugambakkam, Chennai funded by MP and MLA.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ma. Subramanian inaugurated development projects that have been implemented at a cost of ₹1.60 crore in Virugambakkam, south Chennai, on Wednesday. The projects were implemented using the Constituency Funds of Chennai south MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian and MLA Prabhakar Raja, a release said.
The MP’s fund covered a gym and multipurpose building constructed on Ilango Street, under Ward 128 in Kodambakkam zone, at a cost of ₹65 lakh and an anganwadi building in Annai Sathya Nagar, under Ward 138 of Kodambakkam zone, for ₹43.58 lakh.
The MLA fund was used for the construction of a fair price shop on Kamarajar Road in Ward 128 at a cost of ₹22 lakh and a children’s development centre built in MGR Nagar, Ward 138, for ₹30 lakh.
Officials from the Chennai Corporation, along with district and ward councillors and DMK party secretaries, attended the event.

Accredited Social Activists (ASHA) from across the State congregated in front of the Secretariat on Thursday in a show of strength, bringing traffic and life in general around the Secretariat to a standstill, demanding that they be paid a decent honorarium and incentive for the stellar work they were doing for the Health department at the grassroots.
