Telangana Legislature's winter session on December 9, 2024 to focus on new legislation, rectifying past Acts, and addressing social indicators and financial issues.
The winter session of the Telangana Legislature will begin on December 9, 2024. This will be an important session as the present Congress government is set to introduce several legislations, repealing/rectifying the Acts promulgated by the BRS Government.
One of the major focus on the winter session will be the introduction of new legislation, The Telangana Farmers Right on Land and Pattadar Passbooks Act, envisaging litigation-free process for farmers who faced difficulties following the Act introduced by the previous BRS Government.
The Congress government, which is celebrating the Prajapalana Vijayotsavalu to mark the completion of one year of rule by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has reportedly decided to present facts pertaining to some social indicators that were neglected during the previous BRS regime. The government is likely to make a detailed presentation on the way the financial issues are being handled in spite of the loan burden it had been facing since it took over the reins.
Providing employment to unemployed youth has been a major focus area of the government and, sources said, the government has decided to corner the main Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samiti for its decade-long negligence in this regard.
