Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal’s highly anticipated Bollywood film Chhaava has grossed Rs. 72.4 crores at the box office in two days. Released on February 14, the film is directed by Laxman Utekar.
According to the makers, the film minted Rs 33.10 crores on its opening day and Rs 39.3 crores on its second day. Notably, this is the highest opening figure in Vicky Kaushal’s career so far. The film is now expected to cross over the 100-crore mark in the weekend.
According to Saclink, the film had its highest occupancy on day two in Pune, with a staggering 89.25%. Mumbai came second with 74.75%.
Chhaava, bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, is on the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Akshay Khanna essays the role of Aurangzeb in the movie while Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubhai Bhonsale.

Chhaava is facingstiff competition from Captain America: Brave New World, directed by Julius Onah. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is currently working on another historical, Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. He is also part of Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
