‘The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’: Makers unveil new poster of Rishab Shetty’s film

Upcoming biopic on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj starring Rishab Shetty, and music composed by Pritam, is set to release in 2027

On the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the makers of the upcoming biopic on the Maratha warrior released a fresh poster. Starring Rishab Shetty in the lead, the film, titled ThePride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is directed by Sandeep Singh.

The grand poster shows Rishab as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He is seen standing in front of a huge sculpture of a goddess with a lion. The movie is set to hit the screens on January 21, 2027.

The makers recently announced that Pritam Chakraborty will compose music for the movie. Prasoon Joshi has been roped in as a lyricist.

The story, screenplay and dialogues will be written by the duo Siddharth-Garima (Ram Leela, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha) while Ravi Varman will be the cinematographer. Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty has been picked as the director of sounds and acoustics.

Noted Tamil film editor Philomin Raj will handle the film’s editing while Nitin Zihani Chaudhary be the director of art and set design. The historical drama will have action scenes choregraphed from Craig Macrae of Jawan and Pathan fame. The Pride of Bharat will release in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Bengali.

Meanwhile, Rishab is director and starring as the lead in Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to his 2022 hit movie Kantara. The movie, produced by Hombale Films, will release on October 2, 2025. He will also play the lead in Jai Hanuman, the sequel to HanuMan (2024). Directed by Prasanth Varma, the movie is bankrolled by
