Telangana High Court issues notices to Osmania University over ban protests in campus, with next hearing set for April 9.
Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of Telangana High Court had issued notices to Osmania University in a writ petition challenging a circular issued by the university authorities banning protests on the campus. The judge directed the Registrar to file counter affidavit in the matter by April 9.
A student, Pinjari Rafi, filed the plea questioning the circular issued by the university officials issued on March 13. The university standing counsel informed the bench that no protests were banned in the open places on the campus. The matter was posted to April 9 for next hearing.
