A day after a video claiming to show actor Shruthi Narayanan’s casting couch was circulated online, the actor has spoken out against those spreading the video and warned legal action against the perpertrators.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Shruthi wrote, “For you guys, spreading all these contents on me it’s just a joke and fun content. But for me and my close ones this is a very hard situations for us. Especially for me it is a very difficult time and it’s a difficult situation to handle it. I’m also a girl and I also have feeling and my close ones also have feeling and you guys just make it worse and worse (sic).”
“I humbly request you all to not spread everything like wild fire and if it in case go see the videos for your mother or sister or girlfriend because they are also girls and they also have the same bodies like me so go and enjoy their videos (sic),” she added.
In another Story, Shruthi criticised those blaming the victims of such heinous incidents. “This is a human life, not your entertainment. I see many comments and post blaming the victim, but I want to ask men why? Why is the woman always the one being judged, while those who leak and watch such videos go unquestioned? The way people are reacting to it is disgusting (sic),” she wrote.
“All women have the same body parts, just like your mother, grandmother, sister, or wife. This is not a big deal. This isn’t just a video, it’s someone’s mental health, and life..Al-generated deepfakes are ruining lives, and if you’re engaging with them, you are part of the problem. STOP sharing. STOP asking for links. START being human,” she added.
Shruthi then listed out a list of legal actions that could be taken against perpetrators.
