Kadammanitta Foundation award presented to M. Leelavathy

Literary critic M. Leelavathy awarded Kadammanitta Foundation prize, donates cash prize to Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.
Literary critic M. Leelavathy was presented with the Kadammanitta Foundation award at her residence on Monday (March 31, 2025).
This is the ninth edition of the award, instituted in the name of the late poet Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan. The award consists of a purse of ₹55,555 and a plaque. Foundation chairman M.A. Baby handed over the award. Ms. Leelavathy contributed the cash prize to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
Industries Minister P. Rajeeve received the fund. Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan’s son M.R. Geethakrishnan, patron of the foundation Babu John, and cultural activists were present.

He was an avid translator, bringing to Kannada over 22 works from English and Telugu. He brought out a prose version of his ancestor Venkamatya’s Ramayana, translated Palkurike Somanatha’s Basavapurana, Kumudendu Ramayana and also Burtend Russell’s History of Western Philosophy, and several other works.
