Free cardiac surgery services for children at Hyderabad’s NIMS

NIMS Hyderabad offers free paediatric cardiac surgery services with eligibility through Aadhaar card of parents, the child’s birth certificate, or ration card.
The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, has introduced free of charge paediatric cardiac surgery services following the establishment of a dedicated Paediatric Cardiac ICU, to ensure children receive critical care.
“The initiative is open to all children from Telangana, with eligibility confirmed through Aadhaar card of a parent, the child’s birth certificate, ration card, or food security card. Children from other States can also avail of the service if they have an Aadhaar card issued in Telangana or Andhra Pradesh,” the hospital said.
A team of paediatric cardiac specialists will assess each case before proceeding with surgery. The team includes Dr. Amaresh Rao, Dr. Praveen and Dr. Gopal. Consultations are available at the old building of NIMS, first floor, near Ward-6, between 10 a.m and 4 p.m.
