Placing the demand for the supplementary grants, Mr. Thennarasu said the total estimates included ₹12,639.36 crore in revenue account, ₹6,429.20 crore in capital account, and ₹218.88 crore in loan account.
Some of the major additional appropriation include ₹2,000 crore as share capital assistance to Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation to enhance its financial sustainability and to improve its infrastructure; ₹1,400 crore as additional allocation for construction of houses under Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam scheme; ₹1,036 crore for arrears of electricity dues to power utilities; ₹1,000 crore as additional allocation for State Transport Undertakings for the purchase of buses; ₹901.84 crore for mitigation activities in connection with Cyclone Fengal and heavy rainfall during the Northeast and Southwest monsoon in 2024.
