The Supreme Court has allowed a petition to make the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare a party to a PIL that has sought certain steps, including two-child norm, to control the country’s growing population. A Bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna passed the directions on May 7 on the plea filed by BJP leader and lawyer Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay who had sought impleadment of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in place of the Ministry of Home Affairs in his PIL. “This application for impleadment of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in place of Ministry of Home Affairs is allowed, subject to all just exceptions,” the Bench said, while listing the matter for further hearing on July 5.More Related News
