Devotees honour Sri Sarada Devi at Ramakrishna Order event in Tirupati, with clothes distribution for the needy.
Devotees of the Ramakrishna Order made a beeline to the Mission Ashrama campus in Tirupati on Sunday (December 22) to pay tributes to Sri Sarada Devi on her 172nd birth anniversary.
As part of the event, ‘Narayani Seva’ was organised, in which clothes were distributed to poor women.
The event was a prelude for the ‘Kalpataru Day’, falling on January 1, 2025, and ‘National Youth Day’, to be observed on January 12 by the Ramakrishna Order across the country.
Meanwhile, the Rayalaseema-level ‘6th Bhakta Sammelan’, organised by the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhava Prachara Parishat, will begin at Srinivasa Kalyana Mandapam compound on Tiruchanur Road here on Monday (December 23).
Swami Sukrutananda, president of Tirupati Ashrama, will preside over the inaugural session, while Sri Venkateswara University vice-chancellor Ch. Appa Rao will be the chief guest.
The three-day event, hosted by Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samajam of Pudipatla and the combined Chittoor district unit, will witness the presence of twelve senior monks, two Matajis and orators to deliver spiritual messages.
The Cubbon Park administration has said that any event organised inside the park with over 20 participants need prior permission from the Horticulture Department and in some cases, even permission from the police. This comes after the row over organisers of Cubbon Reads, a reading community, being detained on Saturday, as several turned up for a Secret Santa party.
