Prakasam district celebrates 56th formation day with focus on development, employment, and infrastructure for future growth.
On the 56th formation day of Prakasam district, Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao, Santhanuthalapadu MLA B.N. Vijay Kumar and Prakasam District Collector A. Thameem Ansaria paid floral tributes to the statue of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu at the Ongole Collectorate on Sunday.
Mr. Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy was the chief guest on the occasion. He said, “The State government always given special attention to the development of the district. It has focussed on reducing child marriages and infant mortality in the district. It has also developed irrigation and industrial sectors.”
“The State government is providing employment to the local youth without allowing them to migrate to other places. It has set up renewable energy industry in Kanigiri region and leather park in Giddalur. Kandukur constituency, where Ramayapatnam Port and Horticulture University are located, will also be merged into Prakasam district very soon,” he said.
The Minister said that there is a possibility of establishing tobacco-related industries in the district. He said that discussions were held in this direction during the Chief Minister’s recent visit to Davos. He said that the State government has focussed on connecting the rivers and it will be very helpful for the development of the district.
“In addition to speedy completion of Veligonda project, the construction of necessary checkdams in the district is also being considered by the government to ensure efficient use of water resources. The construction work of the four-lane road from Bastawaripeta to Ongole will be started this year itself,” the Minister said.
He said that the State government will also give encouragement to tourism, aqua and granite industries. He said that the Chief Minister has focussed on Prakasam University, Ongole Dairy and the establishment of an airport in Ongole. He further assured that the small and micro industries will also be developed in the district.
Ongole MLA Janardhana Rao said that the State government is giving equal priority to development along with welfare. He said that the flagship project of the district will be completed soon. He said that there is a need to lead the district forward in terms of development in coordination with the officials and public representatives.
