Pioneer student batch of 1964 holds reunion at NIT-T

NIT-T alumni from the first batch reunite after 60 years, reminiscing about their college days and careers.
The first batch of students from Regional Engineering College – Tiruchi, now known as National Institute of Technology – Tiruchi (NIT-T), recently held a reunion to celebrate 60 years since the batch joined the institution in 1964.
According to an official statement, the reunion was held on Monday and saw the participation of 20 alumni and their spouses in a day filled with nostalgia and reminiscences. The old students toured the campus and shared stories of their time at the college, reflecting on how it shaped their lives and careers.
NIT-T director G. Aghila interacted with the batch of 1964 at a special programme.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.
