Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Saturday, General Secretary of the Trust Neelakanth Asuti said that during the meeting held on Saturday, various issues were deliberated upon, and it was resolved to train the ‘archaks’ (priests) from the Panchamasali community to hold functions according to ‘Basava Tatva’.
The meeting also resolved to offer personality development and leadership training to youth from the community, he said. “The plan is to develop leadership qualities among the youth from the community. An expert panel will finalise the details of the programme,” he said.
Mr. Asuti said that the trust had decided to build a Kalyanamantap (marriage hall) at the site allotted to it at Navanagar in Hubballi and the plan would be finalised in next two months.
He also said that the members had decided to disband all the existing district and other committees and form new committees at the earliest.
Earlier, leaders of the community from various districts in Kittur Karnataka held a meeting held under the chairmanship of Prabhanna Hunasikatti to deliberate upon the issues being faced by the community.
Former MLA S.I. Chikkanagoudar, M.S. Akki, former MLCs Mohan Limbikai and Somanna Bevinamarad, community leaders L.M. Patil, Nandakumar Patil, V.I. Patil, Nandakumar Patil, Rajashekhar Menasinakai and others were present.

KPCC spokesperson M. Lakshman on Friday said that petitioner H. Ramamurthy had manufactured ‘fake documents’ and submitted these to the Raj Bhavan seeking sanction for prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for providing “deemed extension” for C-category mines to eight mining companies in alleged violation of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 2015.
