New budget to focus on creation of infrastructure across city, says Nellore Mayor

Nellor Mayor presents budget for 2025-26 focusing on development and welfare measures, with total proposed expenditure of ₹706.79 crore.
Nellor Mayor Potluri Sravanthi Jayavardhan presented the annual budget for the financial year 2025-26 during a meeting held at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Hall at Nellore Municipal Corporation office on Wednesday.
Under her leadership, the new budget has been prepared to ensure that development works are carried out in all divisions across the jurisdiction of the NMC limits in a planned manner. With an opening balance of ₹121.30 crore and deposits worth ₹585.48 crore, a total of ₹706.79 crore has been proposed and ₹695.95 crore as an estimated expenditure in the budget.
On the occasion, the Mayor said that the new budget has been allocated for the creation of infrastructure across the city. She announced that the NMC has made budget allocations with an aim to provide welfare measures to the people. The budget has been prepared and approved in a planned manner for the development of all sectors along with the welfare of people.
The Mayor revealed that the budget allocations have been made by giving priority to all division within the city, and it will be implemented successfully. Deputy Mayor Tahseen, Corporators of various divisions, NMC Commissioner Surya Teja, and senior officials from all departments of the city administration participated in the meeting.
