Senior advocate Kotla Mohana Rao defies age barriers, excelling in national-level quiz competitions, winning over 200 certificates in 1.5 years.
A senior advocate, Kotla Mohana Rao, 64, has proved that age is not a barrier to prove talent and showcase enthusiasm in participation in national-level quiz competitions being conducted frequently by various departments of the Union government. He received around 200 meritorious certificates in one-and-a-half years by winning various competitions held on subjects like Indian history, freedom struggle, science and technology, environment, road safety, and menace of drugs.
The Centre has been encouraging people from different walks of life to participate in online quiz competitions to enhance their knowledge in various subjects. Although there is no age barrier, mostly youngsters prefer to showcase their talent in the competitions organised by Niti Aayog, Union Ministry of Forest and Environment, Ministry of Education and reputed universities.
The Central department conducts quiz competitions and various other activities under mygov.in platform. The subjects like Nav Bharat - Nav Sankalp, Energy Efficiency for Sustainable India, Importance of yoga in day to day life, application of technology in promotion of welfare schemes, road safety measures on highways and others were touched in those competitions.
Mr. Mohana Rao, who retired as a superintendent in the Endowments Department, took up legal profession four years ago. He says the quiz competitions, and online group discussions help enhance one’s knowledge quickly “The activities under mygov.in platform benefit youngsters immensely since they understand the importance of time factor as the questions needed to be answered within a stipulated time period. Parents can encourage their children to enrol themselves in the portal to know about the activities regularly.
Children will gain knowledge on various issues since many of the subjects are not covered in their academic curriculum,” he tells The Hindu.
Vizianagaram Bar Association’s former president Kantubhukta Srinivasa Rao congratulated Mr. Mohana Rao for getting over 200 certificates in a short span of time.
