Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu takes part in Ugadi festival celebrations; gives away Kala Ratna, Ugadi awards

Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu celebrates Ugadi, emphasizes Telugu culture, investments, and citizen services, promoting welfare and development.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu participated in the Ugadi festival celebrations in Vijayawada on Sunday (March 30, 2025.) He presented Kala Ratna awards to 86 persons and Ugadi awards to 116 individuals who excelled in the respective fields and unveiled Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Panchangam along with the Panchangams of Agriculture and Horticulture Departments and the Culture Department’s annual festival calendar.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Naidu said Ugadi had been a rich tradition in the Telugu States and that it brings to one’s mind the Ugadi Pachadi and Panchanga Sravanam. To preserve the culture and traditions and pass them on to the future generations, the government gave due priority to promoting Telugu language and arts.
It was in pursuit of that goal, Annamayya Kshetram, Avadhana Kendram and Silpa Kala Vedika were set up near Hitech City in Hyderabad. Besides, Ugadi celebrations were being organised at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi and the Potti Sriramulu Memorial Trust in Chennai.
Mr. Naidu said ‘People First’ was the NDA government’s motto and it has given equal importance to welfare and development. Efforts being made to attract investments were yielding results. The citizen services were being delivered through WhatsApp, which was a feat accomplished by few other States.
The government was doing all it can to make Andhra Pradesh a progressive State by overcoming the crisis that resulted from bifurcation and the problems created by the YSR Congress Party between 2019-24. Earlier, Mr. Naidu performed special prayers and attended the Panchanga Sravanam conducted by Padma Shri Madugula Nagaphani Sharma.
Ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy (Endowments), Kolusu Parthasarthy (Housing and I&PR) and Kandula Durgesh (Tourism & Culture), Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, MLAs Mandali Buddha Prasad, Yarlagadda Venkat Rao and Bonda Umamaheswara Rao were among those present.

In a setback to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi, the High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday permitted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to continue investigation against all persons, weather accused or not, in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case, except former MUDA commissioner D.B. Natesh.
