
More than 20 injured in two accidents in Udhagamandalam

Two bus accidents in Nilgiris lead to minor injuries for passengers from Kerala and Erode, prompt local rescue efforts.
Two bus accidents occurred in the Nilgiris - at Padanthorai near Gudalur and Naduvattam on Sunday, leading to passengers suffering minor injuries.
In the first incident, a bus carrying tourists crashed near Padanthorai. The tourists, from Kannur in Kerala, were on the way to Udhagamandalam when the bus they were travelling in crashed near Padanthorai. In the incident, 15 persons sustained minor injuries and were treated at the nearest government hospital in Gudalur.
In the second incident, a family of tourists, numbering more than 15 from Perundurai in Erode on the way to Ooty from Gudalur were involved in an accident near Frog Hill, near Naduvattam. The van in which they were traveling went off the side of the road and descended more than 100 feet before it came to a standstill.
Local residents and other motorists rushed to help the stricken occupants of the van. Around 10 occupants sustained minor injuries and were treated.
