Minister D. Sridhar Babu criticizes K. T. Rama Rao over TDR allegations, emphasizes Congress' commitment to state development.
Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce D. Sridhar Babu on Tuesday lambasted MLA and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao over his allegations about transferable development rights, and said it was during BRS’ time that irregularities had taken place with regard to TDRs.
Before levelling unsubstantiated allegations, Mr. Rama Rao, who had served as minister for 10 years, should know the facts, Mr. Sridhar Babu said, while addressing a media conference after laying foundation for various developmental projects in Uppal.
The Congress party is striving to bring the State’s economy back on the track even while continuing various welfare and developmental programmes, he said, while criticising the BRS for rendering the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation bankrupt without making any budgetary allocations.
Asserting that the Congress party is ready to work with anyone for development of the State, the minister invited the Opposition to attend the Assembly session, and offer constructive suggestion to the government. Listing the line-up of future projects, Mr. Sridhar Babu said an IT corridor will be developed between Uppal and Ghatkesar. He also promised to expedite Uppal-Narapally flyover works, and establishment of a skill development centre in Uppal.
The minister laid foundation for works to the tune of ₹41.19 crore, which include sewerage lines, CC road works, water supply to Uppal Bagayat, and other infrastructural works. Tense moments were witnessed at the location with the cadre of BRS and Congress parties, who arrived in large numbers, resorting to sloganeering and protests.
