Telangana High Court directs Public Prosecutor to file counter affidavit in Chief Minister's drone case, next hearing on March 19.
Telangana High Court on Tuesday (March 11, 2025) directed Public Prosecutor for Home to file counter affidavit in a petition filed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy seeking to quash a criminal case registered against him over flying drone without permission to record visuals of a farm house at Janwada.
The case was registered against Mr. Revanth Reddy when he was Malkajgiri MP and was accused of flying the drone over the farm house reportedly belonging to BRS working president and MLA K.T. Rama Rao. Mr. Reddy was arrested then and lodged in prison after the Narsingi police of Cyberabad filed two different criminal cases against him.
He moved the HC seeking an order to quash those two cases pending on the file of a special court trying cases against MLAs and MPs. Senior counsel S. Niranjan Reddy, appearing for the petitioner, contended that the charges levelled did not constitute ingredients of the sections of the law invoked in the case.
The matter was posted to March 19 for next hearing.

In 2024, residents began facing network disruptions after the Prison Department installed T-HCBS in January 2024. Following protests, Airtel installed a mini tower in August to boost the network, briefly improving accessibility for two months. However, the problem resurfaced with the installation of 19 jammers.
