Telangana Governor urges State Legislature to engage in budget discussions for shaping a stronger, more resilient future.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has exhorted all members of the State Legislature to participate in the budget discussions with keen interest and unwavering attention as the budget [2025-26] is not merely a set of numbers, but a reflection of the government’s priorities and vision for the future.
Telangana stands at the threshold of an extraordinary transformation. The budget is not just about financial allocations, it is about shaping a stronger, more resilient Telangana, he said in his traditional address to the joint sitting of the State Legislature marking the commencement of the budget session for financial year 2025-26 on Wednesday (March 12, 2025).
The Governor described the budget as the financial blue print that shaped our policies, programmes and welfare initiatives. “Therefore, it is imperative that all members of the legislature participate in the budget discussions with keen interest and unwavering attention,” he said quoting a saying “a well debated budget today prevents financial headaches tomorrow”.
He said the numbers (presented in the budget) could be daunting at times, but one should remember that behind every allocation, there are aspirations of the people. “So let us approach the budget session with diligence and focus,” he said.
Mr. Varma asserted that led by young and dynamic Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the State government’s resolve was unshakable. Every policy, every initiative and every reform introduced was aimed at creating opportunities, empowering people and driving inclusive growth. The vision was clear, the direction was set and the momentum “unstoppable”.
He called upon the members to march forward together with unity, confidence and unwavering commitment to build a Telangana that was beacon of prosperity, equality and progress for the entire nation.
