Mammootty to act in Falimy director Nithish Sahadev’s next movie
Actor Mammootty is teaming up with Nithish Sahadev, director of the blockbuster comedy film Falimy (2023) for his next venture. The film is produced by the actor’s production house, Mammootty Kampany.
“The film will be of a different genre from that of Falimy. Mammookka will be playing the central character. The narrative is set in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Audience can expect action, drama and dark humour,” says Nithish.
He adds that the shoot will commence once Mammootty completes filming Mahesh Narayanan’s project with Mohanlal and Kunchacko Boban in May. “We have been working on this project for nearly a year. This will be a big film and the shoot might go on for 100 days,” Nithish adds.
The film is scripted by Nithish and Anuraj OB, who acted in last year’s hit movie, Vaazha, and was an additional writer in Falimy.
Nithish says director Alponse Puthran might play a role in the movie. Rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. Music is by Vishnu Vijay.
Nithish’s directorial debut Falimy, starring Basil Joseph, Jagadish and Manju Pillai, was the hilarious story of a dysfunctional family that goes on a trip to Varanasi. An alumnus of Chennai Film School, Nithish has assisted Vipin Das in Mudhugauv and has been an associate on Jude Anthany Joseph’s Oru Muthassi Gadha. His short film, Magneto, was also noticed.
