:
Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) Director Anant Ambani, along with Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh, will lay the foundation stone for a compressed biogas (CBG) project at Diwakarapuram village in P.C. Palli mandal of Prakasam district on April 2 (Wednesday). This is one of the 500 CBG plants being set up by RIL in A.P. with an investment of ₹65,000 crore, each plant at ₹130 crore.
Ahead of their visit, Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Collector A. Thameem Ansaria, Joint Collector R. Gopala Krishna, local MLA Narasimha Reddy, RDO Keshavardhan Reddy, other officials and local public representatives reviewed the arrangements on Friday.
Mr. Veeranjaneya Swamy said, “The State government has put special focus on industrial development in Prakasam district. We will put all our efforts to encourage RIL to establish CBG plants in the western areas of the district, including Markapuram and Giddaluru, where people migrate to other cities in search of employment opportunities.”
He further said, “If such projects come up in the drought-hit western part of the district, the local people would get jobs as well as the value of the lands would increase due to the industrial development. It will also benefit the farmers here. Already, a few companies have come forward to set up their units in this region.”
