Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Mahesh Joshi moved the High Court of Karnataka on March 17 seeking a direction to the State Government to provide adequate police protection to him immediately citing threats from various individuals and groups.
The petition came up before Justice M. Nagaprasanna, who adjourned further hearing till March 20 while asking the government advocate to get instructions from the authorities on the representation given by Mr. Joshi in January seeking police protection.
Pointing out that the petitioner is getting continuous threats, including through messages from mobile mobile, after the Sahitya Sammelana held in Madya during December, it has been stated in the petition that the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) had forwarded the petitioner’s representation to the State Police Chief for consideration, but no action has been taken in this regard so far.
