Senior mathematics Professor from IIT Kharagpur, G. P. Raja Sekhar, appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University for three years.
Senior mathematics Professor from IIT Kharagpur G. P. Raja Sekhar has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, for a period of three years, as per the orders released by the State Government on Tuesday.
Prof. Raja Sekhar has pursued his schooling in St Anthony’s High School, Visakhapatnam in 1985 and Intermediate at Mrs AVN College in 1987. In the year 1990, he had completed B. Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) in Andhra University and M. Sc. (Applied Mathematics), University of Hyderabad in the year 1992. Further he had also pursued M. Phil. (Applied Mathematics: Fluid Mechanics) in University of Hyderabad in 1993 and Ph.D (Mathematics: Fluid Mechanics), University of Hyderabad during 1997.
He has over 27 years of teaching and research experience. He began his career during January 1997 as guest faculty in University of Hyderabad. During December 2000, he joined IIT Kharagpur as Visiting Faculty in Department of Mathematics. He has worked as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor, in the Department of Mathematics.
Prof. Raja Sekhar’s research papers were published in 112 internal journals. He had also received a number of awards and honours during his long career.
