
Govinda Pai’s works are inspiration to literature lovers, says writer Hampa

Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai's literary legacy celebrated in Udupi, inspiring youth to embrace research mindset in Kannada literature.
Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai was a unique writer and an inspiration to lovers of Indian literature, said writer Hampa Nagarajaiah in Udupi on Sunday.
Speaking after receiving Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai award instituted by Manipal Global Education Chairman T.V. Mohandas Pai in memory of his mother Vimala V. Pai, Mr. Nagarajaiah said Govinda Pai’s research work was based on authenticated and original documents. He contributed immensely to Kannada literature and the highlight of his work was his book on Dravida style of songs.
“Govinda Pai’s research mindset coupled with creative writing talent made him an a unique writer. It is really a great honour for me to receive the award named after Govinda Pai,” Mr. Nagarajaiah said.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Kannada University B.A. Vivek Rai said youth of Karavali region should cultivate research mindset. The region has a rich literary heritage. Youth should continue research mindset of Govinda Pai, which alone will bring laurels to Karavali region. Instead of getting involved in discussion on controversial issues, youth should develop ‘Stitaprajnya’ attitude.
The programme was organised by Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai Research Centre-MGM College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Department of Kannada and Culture, at the MGM College’s Ravindra Mantapa. Part 2 of “Govinda Pai Samshodana Samputa” was released.
MAHE Pro-Chancellor H.S. Ballal and retired Kannada professor of Mumbai University Taltaje Vasant Kumar also spoke. MAHE Vice-Chancellor M.D. Venkatesh and Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Department Poornima took part in the function.

Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) is set to enable additional flight connectivity to Bengaluru, during the summer schedule of airlines, beginning from March 30.
