Gandhi Shilp Bazaar at JSS Mysore Urban Haat will go on till February 23

Explore 70+ stalls showcasing handcrafted products from 18+ States, fostering direct interaction between customers and producers.
The Gandhi Shilp Bazaar, an exhibition and sale of handicrafts, which was inaugurated by MLA for Krishnaraja Assembly Constituency T.S. Srivatsa at JSS Mysore Urban Haat on February 14, will remain open for the public till February 23.
Over 70 stalls will be showcasing a variety of handcrafted products from more than 18 States, including those by award-winning craftspersons.
The event will have access to a wide range of handicrafts and handloom products, said a statement issued by K.S. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Director, Handloom Service Centre (HSC), Office of the Development Commissioner for Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles.
The products of display include wood carving, stone sculptures, brass statues, wood inlay art, clay pottery, paper crafts, gemstone jewellery, cotton weaving, imitation jewellery, wooden artefacts, Batik, Kalamkari paintings, leather goods, artistic leather footwear, Channapatna toys, Kutch embroidery, Madhya Pradesh’s Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees, Odisha’s Pattachitra, silver artefacts, bamboo and cane works, chikan embroidery, dry flowers, Punjab’s phulkari fabrics, and artistic stone sculptures, the statement noted.
The craftsmen will design new products based on customer preferences and market demand. The fair allows for direct communication and interaction between customers and producers without intermediaries, thereby fostering better relationship between the two, it stated.
The stalls have been provided free of cost to the participating craftspersons while their travel allowances and daily stipend will also be provided by the office of the Development Commissioner for Handicrafts, the statement added.
The exhibition and sale will be open to the public from 10.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. till February 23 and entry will be free.
