Former Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara said that the BJP Government has failed to live up to the expectations of people in providing a clean administration
Asking the Government to arrest former Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Mnister K.S. Eshwarappa in the abetment to suicide case, former Home Minister and former KPCC president G. Parameshwara said on Saturday that the BJP Government has failed to live up to the expectations of people in providing a clean administration.
Speaking at protests organised by the Congress in Mangaluru and Udupi, Mr. Parameshwara said Mr. Eshwarappa has been named as accused No. 1 in the abetment to suicide of 36-year-old contractor Santosh Patil, who was found dead in the lodge in Udupi on April 12.
“If a common man had been booked in such a case, he would have been immediately arrested. Why is a similar action not taken against Mr. Eshwarappa,” he said, and added that the Congress will continue its protest till Mr. Eshwarappa is arrested.
The State Government should order judicial probe into the alleged demand of 40% commission by Mr. Eshwarappa and his aides for release of more than ₹4 crore spent by Mr. Santosh Patil and other contractors for development works in Hindalga Gram Panchayat, he said.
The former Home Minister said the replacement of B.S. Yediyurappa with Basavaraj Bommai as the Chief Minister has not changed anything on ground and corruption has drastically increased.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Siddaramaiah Government during his election campaign in 2014 as “10% government”.
