Delhi government departments prepare Cabinet notes for projects based on BJP manifesto, including Ayushman Bharat Yojana implementation.
Senior Delhi government officials are working to create draft Cabinet notes and a “100 days’ action plan” following the directions issued by Chief Secretary Dharmendra on February 10. All the departments concerned have been asked to prepare plans based on “Viksit Delhi Sankalp Patra 2025”, which was the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the Delhi Assembly election, officials said.
Many departments have submitted the action plans to the General Administration Department, which will put together a consolidated action plan, said an official.
“All the departments are preparing draft Cabinet notes for projects, which are part of the ‘sankalp patra’ and need Cabinet approval,” the official added.
“A Cabinet meeting could be held on the 20th for which all the departments might be asked to submit their opinions on the draft notes, which can then be presented and approved by the Cabinet,” the officer also said.
Regarding the first Cabinet meeting, the BJP manifesto states, “We will implement the Central government’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana to provide free treatment up to ₹5 lakh. The State government will provide ₹5 lakh additional cover for all the poor families.”
In the meeting held on February 10, two days after the Assembly election results were announced, the Chief Secretary had directed the Health Department to prepare a Cabinet note to implement the scheme, as per documents.
Other issues discussed at the meeting include timely action to combat waterlogging and steps to prevent overflow of sewage on roads.
