State Home Department transfers IGP Roopa to Karnataka Silk Marketing Board Limited amid controversy over confidential documents.
The State Home Department on Wednesday transferred Inspector General of Police (IGP) D. Roopa from the Internal Security Division to Managing Director of Karnataka Silk Marketing Board Limited.
The transfer was issued two days after Ms. Roopa’s junior, Deputy Inspector General of Police Vartika Katiyar, was transferred as DIGP & Additional Commandant General, Home Guards and Ex-officio Additional Director, Civil Defence, Bengaluru, in the downgraded vacant post, following her complaint accusing her of using police personnel to access confidential documents and plant documents of other department in her chamber.
