Cyberabad police personnel recognised for bravery and service at ‘Reward Mela’
Head constables M. Venkat Reddy, K. Pradeep Reddy and P. Veeraswamy, all working with the Madhapur Central Crime Station (CCS), were recognised and rewarded by Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty for their bravery during the recent incident where a criminal opened fire on police personnel in a Gachibowli pub.
On February 1, during an operation to apprehend notorious criminal Bathula Prabhakar, the police team came under gunfire at the pub. Head Constable Venkat Reddy was injured, sustaining a gunshot wound on his left foot. Despite the challenges, they arrested Prabhakar, who has over 70 criminal cases against him in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In a further show of appreciation for exemplary service, the Cyberabad police hosted ‘Reward Mela’ at Gachibowli where the Commissioner presented service medals to the personnel.
For 2024, a total of 107 medals were awarded, including 76 bronze medals for Seva Pathakams received on Telangana Formation Day, four gold medals under the Ati Utkrishta Seva Padak category for 2020 and 2024, and 27 silver medals under the Utkrishta Seva Padak category for the same years. Officers from various ranks were recognised for their integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public safety.
Congratulating the recipients, the Commissioner urged the police force to continue their dedication to service and strive for excellence. He emphasised that such recognition not only boosts morale but also inspires others to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, bringing prestige to the department.
