Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi pressed the Standing Committee on Defence to discuss the India-China stand-off at a meeting held on Wednesday, even as the committee has called off a tour of Pangong Lake in Ladakh which is the flashpoint of the Indo-China conflict. The committee had met on the agenda of ‘Review of Working of Cantonment Boards’. This was its third meeting on the subject. The committee is headed by BJP leader Jual Oram. Instead of touring the Pangong Lake, the committee has now proposed a tour of Army cantonments in Bhubaneshwar and Sikandra for the members.
