Addressing journalists at the Assembly, the Speaker said Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, who also held the Finance portfolio, would present the 2025-26 Budget at 9.30 a.m. on March 12. The Business Advisory Committee will decide on the other list of businesses of the House and the total days of sitting on the first day, Mr. Selvam said.
Referring to the protest by Independent legislator Nehru alias Kuppusamy at the one-day session of the Assembly on February 12, 2025, the Speaker said the legislators would be given adequate time to raise issues, but they should maintain decorum while speaking on the floor of House, he said.
“The government is ready to listen to the views of all members but they should follow procedures. Action will be taken on those indulging in unruly behaviour as per rules of the House,” he said.
Later, the Assembly Secretariat issued a notification announcing the commencement of the Budget session. “The sixth session of the 15th Puducherry Legislative Assembly will assemble at 9.30 a.m. on March 10. The Lieutenant Governor will address the House on that day,” Assembly Secretary J. Dayalane said in a communication.
