Bengaluru student wins Karnataka Rank 1 in National Meteorological Olympiad

Saanvi Jha, a Class 9 student from Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, Bengaluru, secured Karnataka Rank 1 in the National Meteorological Olympiad. She was felicitated by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) during its 150th anniversary celebrations held in New Delhi, on January 14 and 15, 2025.
Saanvi Jha, a Class 9 student from Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, Bengaluru, secured Karnataka Rank 1 in the National Meteorological Olympiad. She was felicitated by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) during its 150th anniversary celebrations held in New Delhi, on January 14 and 15, 2025.
Saanvi was awarded a ceremonial shield and certificate in recognition of her achievement. The ceremony featured an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Saanvi received her award from M. Ravichandran, Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, and M. Mohapatra, Director General of Meteorology.
In addition to the award ceremony, Saanvi participated in a workshop organised by IMD on January 13. The IMD, an agency under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, is responsible for meteorological observations, weather forecasting, and seismology in India.
