Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar challenges Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, calls MLC elections a referendum on his rule.
Launching a counter attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his remarks on Monday against the BJP, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday challenged Mr. Reddy to consider the February 27 MLC elections as a referendum on his 14-month rule.

“We are not against caste enumeration. We oppose adding Muslims in the BC list. Reservations for communities like Dudekulas have been implemented for a long time in Telangana, and we never objected.” “But why should we accept including 8.8% of Muslims in the BC list when they make up 12.5% of the population?” Mr Sanjay asked.
“This will harm genuine BCs. If a bill is sent to include all Muslims in the BC list, why should we approve it?” he asked. Mr. Sanjay said the Congress government owes an explanation to BCs in the State as to how the BC population which was 56% as per the comprehensive family survey, ‘suddenly decreased’ to 60 lakh.
Referring to Mr Reddy’s comments on the telephone tapping case, Mr Sanjay said, “The two main accused in the case fled abroad after Congress came to power. “Let the Chief Minister write a letter requesting a CBI inquiry and hand over the case to the CBI. We will arrest all the culprits.”
Likening the BJP to Team India, he said, “The BJP will win the MLC elections match on February 27, just like India defeated Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy match held in Dubai on February 23.”

Contradicting the provisions of the Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill, 2024, tabled by the State government in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in July 2024, the Joint Legislature Committee that examined the Bill and submitted its report on Monday, has proposed that all the corporations carved out of the existing civic body be given full autonomy in tax collection.
