Army chief visits MCEME, lauds technological advancements

COAS General Upendra Dwivedi reviews MCEME's training programs for battle-ready technicians, emphasizing emerging technologies and self-reliance in defense.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad on Wednesday, where he reviewed the institution’s training programmes aimed at preparing battle-ready technicians for the Indian Army.

During his visit, General Dwivedi was briefed on MCEME’s comprehensive curriculum and skill development initiatives by Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, Commandant of the institution. The briefing highlighted the college’s focus on emerging technologies and hands-on training designed to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Indian Army in modern warfare.

General Dwivedi toured various faculties, inspected laboratories, and observed projects undertaken at MCEME to promote self-reliance in defence technology. He commended the expertise of EME technicians in crucial areas such as counter-drone technology, autonomous robotics, quantum technology, and artificial intelligence, said a release.

Expressing his appreciation for the advancements made by MCEME, the Army Chief underscored the institution’s role in ensuring that the Indian Army remains future-ready.
