Areekode zone emerged winners at the district-level arts festival organised by the Council for Islamic Education and Research (CIER), the educational wing of the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (KNM) Markazudawa, at Mankada near here on Sunday (January 19).
When the Areekode zone secured 284 points, the Nilambur zone became the runner-up with 281 points, and the Keezhuparamba zone got the third position with 261 points.
Rifa P., Aimi M., Raza, Hina P., Hamdi Noufal, Hisham P., and Haleem Mohammed became individual champions in different categories.
Competitions were held in 68 events in kids, children, sub-junior, junior, and teens categories. Nearly 1,200 students from 11 zones took part in the festival.
Quran Velicham State chairman M.P. Abdul Kareem Sullami inaugurated the fest. CIER district chairman Noorudheen Edavanna presided over the event. Focus India chief executive officer U.P. Yahya Khan gave away the prizes.
