Aero India 2025: Traffic diversions from Feb 10 to 14 in Bengaluru, airport commuters asked to use alternate roads

City police advise using alternate routes to Kempegowda International Airport during Aero India 2025 air show to avoid traffic congestion.
City police have requested Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) commuters to use alternate roads to the airport and back, and not use Ballari Road from February 10 to 14, as the road will likely be choked with traffic due to the Aero India 2025 biennial air show organised during these days at the Yelahanka Air Force Base.
Those coming from Mysuru Road and North Bengaluru side have been requested to go to BEL Circle, head towards MS Palya, Munikrishna Junction, reach Rajanakunte and join MVT Cross on Ballari Road and later head towards the Airport. Those coming from East Bengaluru have been requested to go through K.R. Puram, Hennur Cross, Kothanur, Bagalur and reach the South West gate of the Airport through Begur.
Police have banned private buses and all goods vehicles between Mehkri Circle and MVT Cross on Ballari Road during the five days. Bagalur Main Road, Reva College Road, Nitte Meenakshi College Road have been declared one-way during that period.
City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda said that they had appealed to Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) to deploy more buses on the route during these days. The Air Force has also hired more than 500 buses, he said. To those who want to visit the air show during the last two days, when the public is allowed, the Commissioner asked that they scan the QR code in their passes at the entry gate.
Mr. Dayananda said that those coming in private vehicles will have to park them at the Gandhi Krishi Vidya Kendra (GKVK). The BMTC has announced a shuttle service between GKVK and Air Display Viewing Area (ADVA) during the five-day event.
The BMTC has announced that it will also run buses from various pick up points — Hebbal, Kempegowda Bus Station, Shivajinagar, Banashankari BDA Complex, Koramangala, Vijayanagar TTMC, Kengeri, Orion Mall Rajajinagar, Infosys Campus, Electronics City and ITPL — on all five days to ferry those who have already bought tickets and passes to the aero show.
In a statement, BMTC said that these buses have been hired by Aero India 2025 to give free service to viewers. “Attendees have to opt for a boarding point while booking aero show ticket itself and the buses will transport ticket holders free of cost to the venue,” BMTC said.
