
Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister lays foundation for six projects in Namakkal

Minister Mathiventhan inaugurates groundbreaking ceremonies for projects worth ₹15.12 crore in Namakkal district.
Minister for Adi Dravidar Welfare, M. Mathiventhan laid the foundation stone and participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for six project works worth ₹15.12 crore in Namakkal district on Sunday.
The Minister participated in the functions held at Mallasamudram, Elachipalayam, Kabilarmalai, Mohanur, Puduchatram, and Rasipuram.
Speaking at the functions, the Minister said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was implementing welfare schemes that benefit all sections of people in the State, especially the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Class people. Basic amenities such as roads, toilets, and drainage facilities were being provided.
In Namakkal District, based on the demand of the Scheduled Caste people, a government community hall was constructed at ₹86 lakh at Periyamalani in Elachipalayam. For the maintenance of the community hall, a minimum fee would be collected. For the hall, chairs, tables, and cooking utensils would be purchased soon. Lands were identified to construct community halls in various places in the district.
Listing the schemes inaugurated in the district, the Minister said that foundation stones were laid for knowledge centres at Mallasamudram and Karaikurichi at a cost of ₹1.28 crore each, village knowledge centres at Pudur in Elachipalayam and at Ariyur in Mohanur at a cost of ₹77.89 lakh each, an Agriculture Extension Centre at Kabilarmalai at a cost of ₹2.75 crore, and an Adi Dravidar Welfare Hostel at Rasipuram Thiruvalluvar Government Arts and Science College premises at ₹8.25 crore, in which 150 students are able to stay, the Minister added.
Later, the Minister inspected the road-laying works taking place at a cost of ₹4.56 crore at the Subramaniyar Temple in Vaiyappamalai.
