Minister assures no price hike for Aavin milk, addresses concerns raised by AIADMK MLA regarding dairy sector support.
Minister for Dairy Development R.S. Rajakannappan said in the Assembly that the State government would not increase the price of Aavin milk. He was responding to concerns raised in the House by AIADMK MLA A.P. Jayasankaran (Attur).
Listing out the steps being undertaken by the State government to boost the dairy sector in the State, Mr. Rajakannappan said both the milk producers associated with Aavin as well as its consumers were poor and so the government would not increase the price of milk.
Mr. Jayasankaran pointed out that the milk producers faced many challenges while in milk production and hence urged the State government for better assistance in procurement.
