The water level in the Papanasam dam stood at 88.25 feet (the maximum level is 143 feet) with an inflow of 359.99 cusecs and a discharge of 300 cusecs. The water level in the Manimuthar dam stood at 85.44feet (the maximum level is 118 feet) with an inflow of 27.54 cusecs and nil discharge. The rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Sunday was in (mm): Cheranmahadevi 1.20, Papanasam 2, Servalar dam 5 and Manimuthar recorded 1.80 rainfall.

A major operation is under way in Kodagu district to capture two elusive tigers that have been sighted in Theralu and surrounding villages under the jurisdiction of Birunani Gram Panchayat. The forest department, supported by elephants from the Dubare elephant camp—Gopi and Srirama—has been involved in the effort for the past five days.
