The water level in Papanasam dam stood at 110.15 feet (the maximum level is 143 feet) with an inflow of 617 cusecs and a discharge of 800 cusecs. The water level in Manimuthar dam stood at 99.92 feet (the maximum level is 118 feet) with an inflow of 335.06 cusecs and a discharge of 430 cusecs.
The rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Sunday was in (mm): Ambasamudram 5.40, Manimutharu 9, Palayamkottai 12, Papanasam 16, Tirunelveli 7, Manjolai 106, Kakkachi 120, Nalumukku 137 and Oothu recorded 151 mm rainfall.
