State Delimitation Commission holds public hearings in Thiruvananthapuram to address ward boundary demarcation issues, considering complaints from public and organizations.
The State Delimitation Commission began its two-day public hearing in Thiruvananthapuram district on Friday to resolve issues related to the demarcation of ward boundaries in grama panchayats, municipalities, and Corporation.
Over the two days, the commission headed by State Election Commissioner A. Shajahan will consider complaints/petitions filed by the general public and organisations.
Over the course of Friday, the commission considered complaints from the Athiyannoor, Chirayinkeezhu, Kilimanoor, Nedumangad, Nemom, Parassala, Peruymkadavia, Pothencode, Vamanapuram, Varkala and Vellanad blocks. On Saturday, the commission will take up complaints filed by individuals and organisations from the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation limits and the municipalities in the district.
Mr. Shajahan said that the petitions will be dealt fairly on the basis of the inquiry report and the hearing.
District Collector Anu Kumari was also present at the hearing held in the conference hall of the District Collectorate.
