ANANTAPUR
A brand-new two-wheeler (350 CC Bullet) caught fire when its owner was getting a puja done, opposite Sri Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple at Kasapuram in Guntakal mandal of Anantapur district on Wednesday evening.
Officials suspect overheating of the engine coupled with intense heat in the district might have caused the fire. Fortunately, neither the owner nor any of the devotees was injured in the incident.
According to the Fire Department personnel, the owner of the vehicle reportedly drove all the way from Mysuru to get a puja done for his new vehicle. But, even while the puja was in progress, a ball of fire erupted from the petrol tank of the vehicle following a blast.
Onlookers immediately doused the fire, but the vehicle was partially damaged in the accident.
