Two-day Shivamogga Sahitya Sammelana from February 6

The organisers are expecting over 4,000 persons to register for the event. Around 25 book stalls would be set up.
The 19th Shivamogga district Kannada Sahitya Sammelana will be held at Sahitya Grama in Shivamogga city on February 6 and 7. Noted writer Dr. J.K. Ramesh of Tirthahalli has been chosen to preside over the event.
Shivamogga district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president D. Manjunath, in a press conference in Shivamogga on February 3, said that the two-day event would include a procession, seminars on various topics, and a poets’ meet, besides an exhibition-cum-sale of books.
Noted writer and filmmaker Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar would inaugurate the event. Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa would participate, along with Kannada Development Authority Chairman Dr. Purushothama Bilimale, and Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sharath Ananthamurthy, among others. Senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu will take part in the valedictory on the second day.
