Two bodies brought to Belagavi from Prayagraj

District officers receive bodies of Maha Kumbh stampede victims at Sambra Airport in Belagavi, with officials and politicians paying respects.
District officers received two bodies from Prayagraj at the Sambra Airport in Belagavi on Thursday evening. These two victims perished in the Maha Kumbh stampede on Wednesday.
The bodies of Mahadevi Bavanoor and Arun Koparde were airlifted to Belagavi, while the bodies of Jyoti Hattarwath and Megha Hattarwath were sent to the airport in Goa.
Those of the Hattarwaths will be brought by road to Belagavi later.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan, Superintendent of Police Bheemashankar S. Guled, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohan Jagadeesh and others were present at Sambra.
Mr. Roshan told reporters that the bodies will be handed over to the families of the deceased after post-mortem at the District Hospital.
“The bodies from Goa are expected to reach here before midnight. Their post- mortem will be conducted later,” he said.
Member of Parliament Priyanka Jarkiholi, MLAs Asif (Raju) Sait and Abhay Patil, the former MLA Anil Benake and others paid the last respects to the victims.
