TTD organizes grand 'Snapana Tirumanjanam' at Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, with sacred rituals and offerings to deities.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Thursday organised a grand ‘Snapana Tirumanjanam’ at the Dashashwamedha Ghat in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, where the Kumbh Mela is currently underway.
Led by chief priest Venugopala Deekshitulu of Tirumala temple, a team of priests performed the sacred ‘Tirumanjanam’ ceremony of Lord Srinivasa, accompanied by Goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi, on the banks of river Ganga. During the ritual the idols were smeared with milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric, and sandalwood paste, along with the recitation of ‘Pancha Suktams’ by the Vedic scholars.
Following the ‘abhishekam’, the idols were adorned with tulsi garlands. The idol of Lord Sudarshana Chakrattalwar was then immersed in the Ganga, accompanied by temple music and the chanting of Vedic mantras. A special ‘puja’ and ‘harti’ were later offered to Lord Chakratalwar, marking the culmination of ‘Chakrasnanam’ ritual.
